Clinical Hypnosis

Hypnosis is characterised by an extremely pleasant feeling of relaxation and a heightened state of inner awareness. In this state, a person is more open to accepting beneficial suggestions to help make useful changes in their behaviour and lifestyle. Hypnotherapy utilises the techniques of hypnosis to help treat a variety of symptoms and problems. It is often successful when other methods have failed. Approximately 85% of people will readily respond to hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe with no harmful side effects. It is important to remember that nobody can be hypnotised against their will and even when hypnotised, people are completely able to reject any suggestions given if they so choose.
It is a method of tapping into our inner potential and activating the positive thoughts and feelings that can help us minimise stress and achieve a more satisfying and enjoyable life.
Hypnosis is particularly good for:

  • Stopping Smoking
  • Anxiety and Stress reduction
  • Performance (public speaking, sports, career etc)
  • Phobias and Fears
  • Weight Control
  • Pain Control
  • Confidence
  • Concentration
  • Unwanted habits eg. nail biting
  • Exam Nerves
  • Skin Problems
  • IBS

This list is not exhaustive but indicates some of the more common conditions that can be helped.
Sometimes only one or two appointments are necessary, though some conditions may benefit from a short course of appointments at weekly intervals.

After just one session [my husband] felt more prepared and able to support me than he had with everything we had done with our other baby.
