About Cheryl

Cheryl Mason offers a range of complementary therapies at her clinics in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She has extensive experience in nursing, midwifery and pain management teams within the NHS. She is also qualified in other complementary health therapies and often treatments involve a blend of Acupuncture, Hypnosis and Therapeutic Massage / Body work techniques to suit the needs of the individual. Cheryl graduated with the Diploma and then Masters Degree from the esteemed Northern College of Acupuncture, York, where she has since also been guest lecturer. Between 2009 and 2015 Cheryl held a Lecturing and Clinical Supervisor post on the Acupuncture degree course at Leeds Beckett University (formerly Leeds Metropolitan University). During this time she gained the PGCHE teaching qualification. She also trains Physiotherapists and Manual therapists in Acupuncture for Physio UK. Through her experience she has grown a deep respect for the powerful, yet gentle strength of Acupuncture to treat a wide range of conditions.

Cheryl is now extending her range of therapeutic treatments and is part way through the extensive five year training in Masters degree in Osteopathic Medicine  at the International College of Osteopathic Medicine in Surrey, validated by Kingston University. She is already qualified to include Sports Massage, Cupping, Myofascial Release, Chinese TuiNa Physical Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques and Harmonics which she integrates into her practice where appropriate. Home work is also often given to patients in the form of exercise and yoga stretches to accelerate improvement in musculoskeletal conditions.

In 2017 she also completes her training at Oxford University Sport’s campus with the renowned Osteopath, lecturer and best selling author, John Gibbons in his Body Master Method ®. This qualification allows insurance to utilise joint mobilisation and manipulation techniques where appropriate. She has also completed courses with Professor Eyal Lederman in Osteopathic approach to Rehabilitative Exercise and a method called ‘Harmonics’ . The patient is encouraged to let go of tense or dysfunctional holding patterns on a neurological level as the body, mind, joints and tissues are soothed and treated with a series of repetitive oscillating, rocking and releasing movements. This usually creates a state of deep physical and mental relaxation. Patients often present with complex issues requiring a multidimensional approach. Alongside the acupuncture, physical therapy and hypnosis, these trainings create a wonderful a toolkit box from which to select or blend the most effective treatments for patients.

She has trained both with the famous Zita West National Network for Reproductive Health and has seen referrals from Zita West’s London Clinic. She has gained a reputation for helping couples conceive naturally or enhancing success rates for those undertaking IVF and Assisted Conception. Cheryl has also trained with the HypnoFertility® Foundation and often uses both Acupuncture and hypnosis in Fertility treatments.

As part of her interest in pregnancy and childbirth, she also teaches HypnoBirthing® and includes Acupressure Massage / Active Birth sessions in these classes to women and their birth partners to facilitate an easier and more enjoyable experience of childbirth.

Cheryl has trained with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and often includes hypnosis in blended therapy sessions or as stand alone treatment modality. She is an affiliate member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

I know a lot of mums that have required no pain relief at all for it. I am going to classes this month in Leeds with Cheryl Mason - she was recommended by my midwife.
